The Secret to Life

what is the secret to life?

it's about accentuating the positives and depleting the negatives in all people and things. it is seeing the light in everyone and everything but being aware of the dark.

The therapeutic lyrics of Joni Mitchell

Same Situation :

Again and again the same situation
For so many years
Tethered to a ringing telephone
In a room full ot mirrors
A pretty girl in your bathroom
Checking out her sex appeal
I asked myself when you said you loved me
"Do you think this can be real?"
Still I sent up my prayer
Wondering where it had to go
With heaven full of astronauts
And the Lord on death row
While the millions of his lost and lonely ones
CalI out and clamour to be found
Caught in their struggle for higher positions
And their search for love that sticks around
You've had lots of lovely women
Now you turn your gaze to me
Weighing the beauty and the imperfection
To see if I'm worthy
Like the church
Like a cop
Like a mother
You want me to be truthful
Sometimes you turn it on me like a weapon though
And I need your approval
Still I sent up my prayer
Wondering who was there to hear
I said "Send me somebody
Who's strong, and somewhat sincere"
With the millions of the lost and lonely ones
I called out to be released
Caught in my struggle for higher achievements
And my search for love
That don't seem to cease

Down To You :
Everything comes and goes
Marked by lovers and styles of clothes
Things that you held high
And told yourself were true
Lost or changing as the days come down to you
Down to you
Constant stranger
You're a kind person
You're a cold person too
It's down to you
It all comes down to you.
You go down to the pick up station
Craving warmth and beauty
You settle for less than fascination
A few drinks later you're not so choosy
When the closing lights strip off the shadows
On this strange new flesh you've found
Clutching the night to you like a fig leaf
You hurry
To the blackness
And the blankets
To lay down an impression
And your loneliness
In the morning there are lovers in the street
They look so high
You brush against a stranger
And you both apologize
Old friends seem indifferent
You must have brought that on
Old bonds have broken down
Love is gone
Ooh, love is gone
Written on your spirit this sad song
Love is gone
Everything comes and goes
Pleasure moves on too early
And trouble leaves too slow
Just when you're thinking
You've finally got it made
Bad news comes knocking
At your garden gate
Knocking for you
Constant stranger
You're a brute-you're an angel
You can crawl-you can fly too
It's down to you
It all comes down to you

People's Parties :
All the people at this party
They've got a lot of style
They've got stamps of many countries
They've got passport smiles
Some are friendly
Some are cutting
Some are watching it from the wings
Some are standing in the centre
Giving to get something
Photo Beauty gets attention
Then her eye paint's running down
She's got a rose in her teeth
And a Iampshade crown
One minute she's so happy
Then she's crying on someone's knee
Saying laughing and crying
You know it's the same release
I told you when I met you
I was crazy
Cry for us all Beauty
Cry for Eddie in the corner
Thinking he's nobody
And Jack behind his joker
And stone-cold Grace behind her fan
And me in my frightened silence
Thinking I don't understand
I feel like I'm sleeping
Can you wake me
You seem to have a broader sensibility
I'm just living on nerves and feelings
With a weak and a lazy mind
And coming to peoples parties
Fumbling deaf dumb and blind
I wish I had more sense ot humor
Keeping the sadness at bay
Throwing the lightness on these things
Laughing it all away
Laughing it alI away
Laughing it all away

Embrace life day-by-day

I have learned to embrace both the good and the bad days. Each day I remember to check in with myself.
Bad days happen as a reminder that my mind and body are trying to tell me something. It is telling me to slow down, relax and take a breath. Good days occur to remind me I am worthy of a good life.

Toxicity

Being surrounded by bad influences, you continuously breathe in toxins. It fills you up, gradually, like a balloon ready to burst. You harbor away your feelings while it consumes you.
Then one day, you cannot take it anymore and you suddenly burst and the toxins flow through you like an acid rain. It paralyzes your whole body in a deep state of depression. You blame yourself as if you were the bad influence. But it is something you need to experience. The best part is bursting and letting all that negative energy flow through you, draining yourself completely of emotional toxins and later replacing it with positive energy.

Control

Some people only control you because they lack control over themselves. They try to "help" you plot out your life because they have no control over their own life.
Watch them act all shocked with you when you gain the courage to refuse their calls or turn down their invites. They will continue to be persistant and wonder why you are not communicating with them. There is nothing you can say that they will not comprehend. They choose to see things how they want to perceive them. Just let go....

Lifelong Learning

"The core of man's spirit comes from new experiences."

Learning is a lifetime process. People continue to learn from each other.
The old can teach the young their wisdom and to put everything into perspective. The young can teach the old to remain free-spirited and full of life and adventure.
So if you really want to learn something...just talk to an older person or sit and watch a child play.

Connected

We are all individual bricks. We are all unique. We each have our own differences. Only when we take the time to truly get to know others, we find out we are similar because we all have our own differences. And we learn to embrace others uniqueness, as well as our own.
In a way, each brick makes up a wall of understanding and togetherness. Through our differences, we are connected. And one will always be disconnected from the wall if he/she neglects to truly celebrate their own uniqueness.
I say, make time to dance freely, sing as loud as you can, as if no one is watching.
Express yourself to the fullest because you really have nothing to lose.
(But do let others have their time in the spotlight too.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And if you think people don't see you for who you truly are, think again. The right people; the positive influences will see you for you even before you see yourself. These people could come to you as a boss, co-worker, friend, significant other, or family member. (Or a combination of either one.) If you are weak, you will try to please these people. But they really want you to stand out and be strong....and love yourself.
It comes from within....
I must say, I am a lot stronger on the inside. I wake up with a plan each and every day now but I do know to be flexible. Every day there are obstacles and challenges which block my plans and goals. But I am okay with that.
By focusing on myself from the inside out is where my true beauty comes from. You have to feel beautiful in order to accept the fact that you are beautiful. Beauty is an opinion and yours is the only one that matters.
Self-love, in time, will radiate as true beauty.
People who criticize you and your appearance are really unhappy with themselves. It is a reflection of how they perceive themselves or how they think others' perceive them. That is why you should never take criticism personally because you don't really know that person's whole story. And if you do take it personally, you are actually making it worse.
...so just live for yourself and your own approval; not others'.
"Stuck In Blue"
What does depression feel like?
Imagine trapped in a movie
or a record on repeat.
Imagine being the fake, plastic mannequin
behind the glass window.
It's like repeating the same lines over and over again with nothing new to say.
It's playing the same sad song over and over in your head.
It's being so cold and so plastic for everyone to see.
And all you really want is to break free
from the perpetual silence;
Your own silence you have grown to fear.
You want to come alive and begin to feel again.
You want to smash the glass window to reality.
You want everyone to see
You finally broke free
and decided to just live.
Just live...
This isn't a movie; it's real life.
There are no scripts, just conversations.
This isn't the same sad song,
there's other emotions to feel.
You aren't plastic.
You are a human being that feels
every last thing of your beautifully tragic little life.
So make the most of it...
"Heartache"
Heartache is nothing but emotional bleeding.
It's the feeling of your heart's chambers emptying out all of your blood
and then having it completely drained from the rest of your body.
You lay there bloodless and spiritless.
You might as well be dead because
emotionally that is what you are.
With heartache
you emotionally bleed
every last feeling left inside
and all you can do is lie there
in a very blank state
totally lifeless
as the world around you continues on
without you in it....
